PPIUD 2020
This document is a research note published in BMC Research Notes in 2020. The study focuses on the implementation of the postpartum intrauterine device (PPIUD) in Sri Lanka. The authors aim to study the institutionalization of PPIUD services at a specific hospital and examine the feasibility, challenges, and barriers of implementation. The study analyzes data on the number of deliveries, counseling, consent for PPIUD, training of healthcare staff, PPIUD uptake, and follow-up data. The findings suggest that PPIUD can be successfully implemented in resource-limited settings and provide recommendations for improving uptake of this cost-effective and safe method of postpartum family planning.
